Hot & Sour Soup with Chicken & Cabbage

5 cups     chicken broth 
1/2 tsp    hot pepper flakes 
1/8 cup    red wine vinegar 
1/8 cup    light soy sauce 
1/2 tbs    black pepper 
1/2 tsp    garlic powder 
1/8 cup    Minced onion 
1/8 cup    chopped parsley 
100g       Chicken Breast 
100g       Cabbage

Pour chicken broth into a large pot. Stir in hot pepper flakes, vinegar, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low and keep at a simmer. Meanwhile, heat pan on med-high heat and add cubed chicken breast, cook until no longer pink in the centre, about 5 minutes. Stir chicken into the simmering soup along with the cabbage. Simmer until the cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes. Add parsley or chopped chives and serve immediately.
