Why Am I Losing Weight Slowly on the HCG Diet?

Why Can’t I Lose Weight Just As Fast As Everyone Else?
by R.Lipman MD

Many people find it difficult to lose weight and can’t seem to figure out what they are doing wrong. There are plenty of reasons that it is difficult to lose weight or lose fat and if you are going about the task in the wrong way you could be wasting a lot of energy doing the wrong things. The human body is made to survive at all costs and packing on the extra weight is a great way to insure against periods of starvation.

There are a few key areas that you should pay attention to if you are having trouble losing weight on the HCG Diet:

Making Food Mistakes: The primary reason for low weight loss from the beginning of the HCG diet is simple food mistakes. Sugar is found in hundreds and hundreds of products. Check you labels. Watch you foods when you dine out.

Low metabolic rate: There are plenty of factors that go into your metabolic rate such as muscle mass, eating patterns and genetics, being women instead of a man and aging. The slower your metabolism the harder it will be to lose weight.

Low Thyroid Function: This is one of the most common causes of slow weight loss on any diet. Get your thyroid checked by your doctor if you suspect the problem.

Being a female: Most men tend to carry more muscle mass than their female companions, and this can explain part of the reason that women have a harder time losing weight. The distribution of fat storage also plays a large role where men store the excess in the midsection where women tend to store it in the hips, legs, and buttocks. The fat storage for women is less available to be broken down and is retained more readily.

Hormones and stress: People experience situations differently and your hormones play a large role in how your body processes the extra weight or attempts at weight loss. The more stress that you endure the harder it is to lose weight. People also don’t factor in sleep as a way to regulate their hormones and skipping a few hours here and there can have a major impact on your waistline.

Even if you are having trouble losing weight it is important to focus on health and just make sure that you are starting with good nutrition and plenty of exercise. Once you have a good core routine for nutrition and exercise it is important to start looking at all of the other factors one by one. Reducing stress, sleeping more, increasing your metabolism and drinking plenty of water will help you to find what is holding you back from losing weight. Start now and stay consistent.
